Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
2 to 3 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter or margarine
3/8 c. molasses
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/8 c. sour milk
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Blend in egg.
Add molasses and beat well.
Add dry ingredients with milk.
Beat until smooth. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with white sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
