Brown Sugar Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick) margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Melt margarine in a saucepan large enough to serve as a mixing bowl.
    Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.
    Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Add nuts.
    Stir in dry ingredients.
    Spread in greased 8-inch square pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
