Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. margarine
2 egg yolks
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 egg whites
chopped nuts
Preparation

Form into small balls and roll in lightly beaten egg whites, then roll in chopped nuts.
Bake 5 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Take out and thumbprint each cookie.
Return to oven.
Bake 8 minutes more.
