Teacher'S Appreciation Luncheon Cheese Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 oz. yeast or 1 oz. dried yeast
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    3 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 c. whole wheat flour
    pinch of salt
    1 c. water (heated to blood temperature)
    2 oz. butter or margarine
    2 1/4 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    3 tbsp. chives
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Pour yeast in cup, stir in 1/4 cup water.
    Add sugar and beat until frothy.
    Put flour and salt in large bowl, add yeast mixture. Add rest of the water, knead for 2 minutes.
    Form into a ball, sprinkle with flour, cover, let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours until doubled.
    Knead dough lightly.
    Roll into rectangle.
    Dot with butter.
    Fold over in thirds.
    Roll out to same size again. Sprinkle with cheese and chives to within 1/2 inch from sides. Roll from short end like a jelly roll.
    Place into greased bread pan.
    Score with sharp knife.
    Let rise approximately 30 minutes. Brush with beaten egg.
    Bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
