Shortbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. of butter (softened)
    1/2 c. sugar
    2-1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
Preparation
    In large bowl, with electric mixer on medium, beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
    Stir in flour until smooth and well combined.
    (Dough will be stiff.)
    Divide dough into two parts and refrigerate for several hours.
    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
    On lightly floured surface, roll out one part at a time to 1/3 inch thickness.
    Using any shape cookie cutters, cut out cookies.
    Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake cookies for 25 minutes or until light golden.
    Remove to wire rack to cool.
