Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. molasses
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening and molasses.
    Mix in salt and egg. Dissolve soda in water.
    Sift dry ingredients and add with water. Set aside for 20 minutes.
    Shape dough into small balls.
    Flatten balls and press with fork dipped in water.
    Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes; makes 3 dozen.
