Ingredients

1 c. soft butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. red candied cherries, quartered
1/2 c. green candied cherries, quartered
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats (quick kind)
1 (3 1/2 oz.) flaked coconut
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Beat together butter and sugar until creamy.
Beat in eggs.
Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture, blending well.
Stir in cherries and oats.
Shape dough to form 1-inch balls.
Roll in coconut; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated 375\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes approximately 6 dozen.
