Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix well, chill.
Form in 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
