Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 or 375\u00b0.
Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs one at a time.
Add vanilla and dry ingredients.
Roll 1/4-inch thick.
Cut and put on cookie sheet.
Sprinkle sugar on top.
Bake for 12 minutes or until brown; watch them very closely. Makes approximately 40 cookies.
