Ingredients

2 sq. chocolate
1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
pinch of salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Bring to a boil chocolate and water.
Let cool.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add egg and sour milk.
Stir well.
Then add the cooled chocolate and vanilla.
Mix well.
Fold in flour, soda, salt and nuts.
Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven. Can frost with chocolate or vanilla frosting.
