Irene'S Hobo Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    1 c. boiling water
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. flour
    chopped nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Sprinkle baking soda over raisins.
    Pour boiling water over raisins and let stand until cool.
    Add the remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour into 3 ungreased cans (the kind veggies come in). Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    If larger cans are used, bake longer.
