4 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 c. soft butter
2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. granulated sugar
food coloring
Preparation

Sift flour, cream of tartar, cinnamon and salt together. Cream butter and brown sugar thoroughly.
Add 2 eggs and 1 egg yolk (reserve 1 egg white), beating until light.
Gradually add flour mixture, beating thoroughly.
