Cranberry Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
pinch salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. grated orange peel
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. fresh cranberries, chopped
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Add peel, juice and egg to dry ingredients. Mix just enough to moisten. Fold in berries and nuts. Pour into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. Cool. Wrap and store overnight before slicing.
