Two Way Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shortening
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    4 egg yolks
    2 tsp. water
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 bag chocolate chips
    4 egg whites
    2 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Mix shortening and sugars.
    Add egg yolks to water; add vanilla.
    Mix flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and add to first mixture.
    Mix until well blended.
    Pat out on cookie sheet. Cover dough with chocolate chips; Pat down.
    Beat egg whites and sugar until stiff.
    Cover chocolate chips.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown.
    Cut in squares.
