Carrot Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. shredded carrots
1 tsp. parsley flakes
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut in shortening.
Add milk, carrots and parsley.
Stir until flour is moist.
Drop dumplings into simmering liquid in approximately 8 mounds (chicken or beef stock may be used).
Cover and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting cover.
Serves 8 people.
