Banana Nut Bread With Orange Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. soft butter or margarine
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. mashed ripe bananas
    2 Tbsp. grated orange peel or 1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
    2 c. milk
    1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt; set aside.
    In medium bowl, with mixer or wooden spoon, beat sugar, butter and egg until smooth. Add bananas, orange peel and milk, mixing well.
    Add flour mixture, beating just until smooth.
    Stir in nuts.
    Pour batter into prepared pan; bake 1 hour, or until cake tester comes out clean. Let cool in pan 10 minutes, remove, cool completely on wire rack. Serve thin slices.
