Grandma'S Welsh Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. raisins
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (more if you wish)
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening (butter, oleo or lard can be used)
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
Cut in shortening (as for pie crust).
Add raisins, then add eggs and milk; mix.
    Roll out on floured board.
Cut with round cutter and bake either on lightly greased skillet (griddle) or baking sheet in a 375\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
(Most Welsh prefer to bake in skillet - electric can be used.)
Grill over medium-low heat in electric skillet.
Bake on one side about 4 or 4 1/2 minutes.
Turn and bake on other side.
Dough can be refrigerated (in a roll) for a couple of weeks.
Slice off regular number and bake as required.
