Bible School Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. oleo and shortening
    3 c. white sugar
    8 eggs
    4 c. quick oats
    4 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    4 c. brown sugar
    4 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. water
    10 c. flour
    4 tsp. soda
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Melt oleo and shortening. Add sugars and vanilla.
    Cool.
    Stir in eggs, water and oats.
    Mix 1 cup flour with salt, soda and baking powder.
    Add to shortening mixture. Add remaining flour, nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Yields 25 dozen.
    These freeze well.
