Raisin Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 to 6 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

In mixer bowl, combine 3 cups of the flour and the yeast.
In saucepan, heat together milk, sugar, shortening and salt just until warm, stirring occasionally, to melt shortening.
Add to dry ingredients in mixer bowl.
Beat at low speed of electric mixer for 1/2 minute, scraping sides of bowl constantly.
Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
