Ingredients

2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. Mazola margarine
1 c. Skippy creamy or super chunk peanut butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
Preparation

Stir the first 4 ingredients; set aside.
In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat the margarine and peanut butter until well blended.
If necessary, chill dough.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Flatten slightly; decorate with candied cherries, or flatten with fork dipped in colored sugars.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Remove from cookie sheets; cool on rack. Makes 6 dozen.
