Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
2 c. shredded coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream butter and shortening until fluffy, gradually adding sugar, beating well. Add eggs and extract; beat well.
Blend in dry ingredients and mix well.
Add cherries, coconut and pecans.
Drop by teaspoonful onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Flatten slightly.
Top each with a quarter cherry.
Bake at 375\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
