Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. butter flavor
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy.
Add egg, then flavorings.
Sift dry ingredients into shortening mix.
Mix thoroughly.
Form pieces of dough about size of walnuts.
Press down on ungreased cookie sheet with fork dipped into water.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
Yield:
about 6 dozen cookies.
