Beef Tomato-Cabbage Scallops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. chopped celery
    2 1/2 c. fresh or canned tomatoes
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    4 c. cabbage
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
Preparation
    Cook beef in shortening until brown.
    Add onion and celery; cook for 5 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, salt and pepper.
    Bring to boiling point.
    Alternate layers of cabbage and beef mixture in buttered 2-quart baking dish.
    Top with bread crumbs.
    Bake in preheated 375\u00b0 oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until done.
    Serves 6.
