Ingredients

3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or oleo
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. chocolate mint wafers (9 oz.)
walnut meats
Preparation

Cream butter and sugars.
Blend in eggs, water and vanilla. Beat well.
Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Enclose a mint wafer in about 1 tablespoon of chilled dough.
Place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
Top each with a walnut half.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
