Orangy Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 (1 lb.) can pumpkin
    2/3 c. water
    3 1/3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 orange
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
    2/3 c. chopped raisins or dates
Preparation
    Cream the shortening with sugar; add eggs, pumpkin and water. Sift together next 6 ingredients and add to pumpkin mixture. Remove seeds from orange.
    Using blender or grinder, grind orange, including peel; add to pumpkin batter.
    Stir in nuts and raisins or dates.
    Pour into two well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans or seven 1-pound cans and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
    Makes 2 large or 7 small loaves.
