Ingredients

1 cube butter
1 Tbsp. shortening
6 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
5 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 tsp. anise
Preparation

Cream together butter, shortening, sugar and eggs.
Add flavoring and nuts.
Sift flour and baking powder.
Add to first mixture.
Make into small rolls.
Place on a cookie sheet.
Bake until only slightly tan.
Cut up diagonally.
Toast just a little (approximately 5 minutes).
