Ingredients

1 c. lard (can use Crisco, but lard makes it flakier)
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
enough flour to make it dough (5 to 8 c.)
Preparation

Cream lard, butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, buttermilk, baking powder, vanilla, salt and enough flour to make it dough. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0.
Makes 100 cookies.
