Lemon-Poppy Seed Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. poppy seed
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
Preparation
    Grease loaf pan.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 (325\u00b0 for glass pan). Combine milk and poppy seed.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
    Cream shortening thoroughly with sugar.
    Beat eggs and lemon rind into creamed mixture.
    Blend in flour alternately with milk mixture, beating well after each addition.
    Turn mixture into prepared pan.
    Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
