Date-Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation
    Add boiling water with baking soda to dates and let cool. Cream margarine, sugar and egg.
    Add date mixture to it; then add flour, salt, vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into loaf pan; bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
