The Vicar'S Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. baking soda
    3 Tbsp. wheat germ
    2 c. all-purpose white flour
    4 c. whole wheat flour
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Blend together all dry ingredients.
    Make a well in the middle and add milk and sour cream.
    Blend until it holds together.
    Knead in the bowl about 4 minutes.
    Shape dough into a ball and then flatten it until it is about 3 inches high and slightly rounded on top.
    Place loaf on greased cookie sheet.
    Score a cross about 1/2-inch deep on top.
    Lightly rub top of loaf with milk.
    Bake for 45 minutes in preheated 400\u00b0 oven.
    Flip loaf over onto its top and bake another 5 minutes.
    Wrap in a damp dish towel and stand loaf on its side to cool.
