Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted regular flour
1 tsp. each: baking soda and cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter and confectioner sugar.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together regular flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Add to creamed mixture.
Chill dough on floured surface.
Roll dough to 1/8-inch and cut into desired shapes.
Bake in preheated oven.
