Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. Crisco or Snowdrift
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. finely chopped pecans
Preparation
    Sift flour, measure, resift three times with baking powder, soda and salt.
    Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.
    Add eggs, vanilla and nuts, mix well.
    Add flour mixture in 4 or 5 portions. Divide dough in 4 portions and shape each portion in a roll 1 3/4 inches in diameter.
    Wrap in wax paper and chill several hours or overnight until dough is stiff enough to slice.
    Cut slices approximately 3/16 inch thick with sharp knife.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in moderate oven, 375\u00b0, about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Remove from pan to cake racks.
    Makes 12 to 12 1/2 dozen cookies.
