Ingredients

3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco
1 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. pecan pieces (optional)
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Combine Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat until creamy. Blend in egg.
Mix flour, salt and soda together in separate bowl.
Gradually add flour mixture to batter.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoonful of dough 3-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overbake.
Cookies will look light and chewy.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
