Ingredients

1 c. Crisco shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. Karo white syrup
1 Tbsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp.soda
sugar sprinkles, frosting, etc.
Preparation

Cream Crisco and sugar until well mixed.
Add eggs, syrup and vanilla.
Mix well.
In a separate bowl, measure flour, baking powder, salt and soda.
Add to creamed mixture a little at a time, just until blended.
Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
Divide dough into 4 balls and roll out one ball at a time, leaving the rest of the dough in the refrigerator.
Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into heart shapes or other shapes; place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 5 to 9 minutes in a 375\u00b0 oven. When lightly browned, remove from oven and place on racks to cool. Frost when completely cooled.
