Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1 c. mashed bananas
    3 c. flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch).
    Mix sugar, shortening and egg thoroughly.
    Stir in milk and bananas. Blend dry ingredients and stir into cream mixture.
    Blend in nuts and pour into loaf pan.
    Bake 60 to 70 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean.
    Cracks in top are normal.
    Cool before slicing.
    Good plain or with peanut butter icing.
