Ingredients

1 generous c. persimmons (3 medium size)
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 c. raisins
1 c. sugar (less may be used, if desired)
1 cube butter or margarine
salt to taste
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, ground cloves and nutmeg
Preparation

Dissolve soda in persimmon pulp.
Cream together the shortening and sugar.
Add raisins to flour.
Add egg to persimmon pulp.
Add dry and moist ingredients alternately into persimmon pulp.
Mix well.
Drop by spoonful onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 20 minutes.
Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.
