Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. fresh pineapple
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 stick butter
1 c. flour
1 tsp. or more vanilla, anise, rum or whiskey
3 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
Preparation

In a bowl, beat all ingredients together.
Heat pizella iron, and when ready, drop a large tablespoon of batter or 1/4 cup. Close iron and let pizellas cook for a few seconds.
Remove with a fork.
Once cooled, they can be stacked on top of each other in a container for storage.
(I have used an empty oatmeal can.)
They can also be wrapped in foil for safe keeping.
