Farmer'S Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 Tbsp. softened butter
3 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Put cornmeal in a large bowl. Stir in boiling water.
Continue to stir until cool to prevent lumping.
Blend in butter and egg yolks.
Stir in buttermilk, salt, sugar, baking powder and baking soda.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
Fold into cornmeal mixture.
Pour into greased 2-quart casserole. Bake in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes. Serve at once with butter. Makes 8 servings.
