Thumbprint Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Butter, softened
    1 (3 oz. pkg.) Cream Cheese, softened
    1 c. Sugar
    3/4 tsp. Vanilla
    1 Egg
    2-1/2 c. Flour
    1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1/2 c. Fruit Preserves (any kind desired)
Preparation
    Beat together Butter and Cream Cheese.
    Beat in Sugar, Egg, and Vanilla.
    Combine Flour, Baking Soda, and Salt.
    Add to butter and cream cheese mixture.
    Chill 1 hour.
    Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Make an indention with thumb. Fill with Preserves.
    Bake in 350 oven for 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cool on rack.
    Yields:
    approximately 48 cookies.
