Ingredients

2 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 3/4 c. evaporated milk
2 Tbsp. corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter or butter substitute
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped almonds
few grains salt
Preparation

Boil sugar, syrup and milk to soft ball stage.
Remove from fire.
Add butter or butter substitute.
Cool to room temperature. Beat until thick and creamy.
Add coconut, nuts, salt and flavoring.
Pour into well buttered, shallow pan.
Cut into squares.
