Ingredients

1 c. softened butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
granulated sugar
Preparation

Mix butter, confectioners sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract.
Blend in flour, soda and cream of tartar.
Cover; chill for 2 to 3 hours.
Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Divide dough in half.
Roll each half to three-sixteenths inch thick on floured board.
Cut into desired shapes; sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Place on greased baking sheet.
Bake 7 to 8 minutes, or until light brown on edges.
Yields about 5 dozen.
