Date-Orange Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. packed C & H golden brown sugar
1/3 c. butter or margarine
2 eggs
3/4 c. orange juice
2 tsp. finely grated orange peel
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. snipped pitted dates
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
With electric mixer, cream the sugar and butter until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in orange juice and orange peel. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Fold in dates and nuts. Spoon batter into pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan. Cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf.
