Candy Cane Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring or peppermint
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. red food coloring
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix shortening, butter, sugar, egg and flavoring.
    Add flour and mix.
    Divide dough in half and add red food coloring to half of dough.
    Roll a 4-inch strip using 1 teaspoon dough from each color.
    Twist together and shape like a candy cane.
    Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
    Bake 10 minutes on ungreased baking sheet.
