Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. coconut
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Mix well and add flavoring.
    Sift flour and measure; combine with salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.
    Add to first mixture.
    Add coconut and mix thoroughly.
    Form into rolls 2 inches in diameter.
    Chill overnight.
    Cut into slices.
    Place on slightly oiled baking sheet.
    Bake in a hot 400\u00b0 oven about 15 minutes.
