Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
nuts (pecans or walnuts are recommended)
Preparation

Mix soft butter, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla well.
Spread on large cookie sheet very thin with fingers.
Beat egg and spread over batter in pan.
Drain off excess egg.
Cover
with finely chopped nuts, firming them onto the dough.
Cook in oven at 375\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
Cut into squares as soon as taken from oven.
