Orange-Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. chopped dates
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. oleo
    1 egg
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. orange juice concentrate, thawed
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 1/2 oz. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over dates. Stir until lukewarm.
    Beat in by hand the oleo, egg, sugar and orange juice concentrate. Sift together dry ingredients, except nuts.
    Fold dry ingredients into date mixture.
    Add nuts and blend through.
    Pour into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan that has been sprayed with a nonstick spray and bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in loaf comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Turn out onto rack and cool completely.
