Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Sift together flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar.
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.
Beat in egg.
Gradually stir into creamed mixture.
Add dry ingredients and chill at least 1 hour. Roll on lightly floured pastry cloth, cut and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
