Mildred'S Cut Out Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. quick oatmeal (put in blender until flakes are 1/4 original size)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; mix in milk, egg and vanilla until blended.
    Mix flour, baking powder and salt, then add to creamed mixture and stir until moistened.
    Add oatmeal and mix well.
    Put in tightly covered bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.
    Roll out 3/8-inch thick on lightly floured surface and cut with sharp metal cookie cutters and bake for 13 to 15 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Cookies will not brown.
