Rolled Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1 egg
    1/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground mace (optional)
Preparation
    Cream together sugar and softened butter.
    Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat well.
    Sift together remaining ingredients and blend into creamed mixture.
    Cover and chill at least 1 hour.
    I usually mix it up the day before I roll and cut it out.
    Roll out on lightly floured surface, 1/8-inch for thin or 1/4-inch for thick.
    I usually make them thick.
    Cut with cookie cutters.
    Put on ungreased sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 7 to 8 minutes for thin or 10 to 12 minutes for thick.
    Frost or decorate, if desired.
