Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. hot water
1 c. finely chopped nuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening until smooth.
Add sugars and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating mix after each one.
Dissolve soda in hot water and add to mixture.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Stir in nuts, chocolate chips and oats.
Mix well.
Add vanilla.
Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
